Mr. Johnson received his Professional Degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1966. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Geologist. From 1966 to 1982 he was with Amoco Production Company in positions including Staff Geophysicist, Marine Tech Group Supervisor, Division Processing Consultant and Senior Geophysical Supervisor. His responsibilities included geophysical interpretation in the Western Williston Basin, onshore and offshore Alaska, San Juan Basin, the Powder River Basin, Northern Thrust Belt, Inter-mountains Basins, Paradox Basin, Uinta Basin, Piceance Basin and the Rock Springs Uplift. In 1982, he joined Husky Oil as Exploration Manager/Chief Geophysicist, Rocky Mountains and Gulf Coast Divisions. There he managed a $30 million annual exploration program. In 1984 he formed Exploration Geoconsultants, a high-tech consulting company with international operations. In 1985 he joined ANR as Geophysical Manager and when ANR merged with Coastal Oil & Gas he served as Sr. Staff Geophysicist of the merged companies. He was involved with developing plays and prospects in an area from Texas to the Canadian Border. He developed technologies to lower risk, and has enjoyed an outstanding success rate. His specialty has been the seismic detection of Gas in Cretaceous Sandstones and Fractured Sandstones. These technologies use AVO modeling and interpretation techniques to predict gas saturations and fracture orientations in gas reservoirs in advance of drilling. |
